BACK!! My Money Saving Secret for today...

Today Burke is napping (yay!) and I thought I would share my money saving secrets!

Good luck saving! :)

Somebody asked me about ebates today and I thought I'd share with you guys. I know its silly, but I thought most everyone knew about it! It's a way to shop online and get a percentage of your purchase back. Basically, you just have to shop "through" their site and then you get a percentage back. Each store is a different percentage and they have TONS of stores (including ebay!). It's an easy way to save money. You can get paid through paypal (which is what I do) or you can get a check. I don't go out of my way to spend money, but if I am buying something anyway, it's a good way to get something back! I've already gotten over $50 over a few months! I really like ebates a lot. Its super easy and they even have coupon codes for various stores, so you can save extra money. Click here to sign up!

Sunshine rewards is another site you can use also. I like ebates better, but sunshine sometimes has stores that ebates doesn't. I actually started out with Sunshine rewards a couple years ago and probably have gotten over $300 in gift cards (disney gift cards for me!). I haven't used it much lately because I discovered ebates, but its great too! It's better for earning gift cards though. I usually look to see which has a better payback percentage and shop through that site (usually its ebates) . You can click here to find out more or sign up!

Swagbucks Update

People have asked about swagbucks so I thought I'd answer here...
In MY opinion, the easiest and best way to use swagbucks is to download the toolbar and do searches that way. You just need to follow the directions on the swagbucks site and it will appear in your internet window (like a google search box).
If I had to login everyday I would never use it!  I started about 2 months ago and am up to 195 bucks, which isn't bad considering I would be doing searches anyway!

Just leave a comment if you have anymore questions!

Deal of the Day

so I would love to be able to post a good deal each day.. That will be my new goal (we'll see how it goes)!

Today's deal is a Target one!  The Mr. Potato Head Stanta Clause can be bought for $.99 !!  Not a bad deal.  You will just need to print the coupon ($5 off) and pick one up!  Don't forget when printing from coupons.com, etc you can only print 2 of each coupon.  You will print then have to push the back button and do it again..

The coupon can be found on the playskool website or at coupons.com.  I was able to print 2 from each site (total of 4 coupons).  You are looking for the Mr Potato Head Spud Buds Toy coupon (there are three different Mr. Potato Head coupons)

Mr. Potato Head Santa Clause $5.99

Target's OFFICIAL Coupon Policy:

Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping with us, and it's easy to use them at our stores.
• Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited)

• Super Target coupons can be used in any Target store if the store carries the item

• We gladly accept valid internet coupons

Because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target.  When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:
• We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued.

• We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.

• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.

• We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.

• We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.

• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out.

Target's Official Price Matching Policy:

A little about me and this blog!

I'll start by explaining myself!  For those who do not know me, I am Danielle and live in Blacksburg, VA.  I am a married mother of one (the cutest 4 month old little boy ever!) and LOVE to shop! Not only do I LOVE to shop, but I LOVE to get good deals!  I love couponing! Yes, it takes time and can be tedious, but there is some sort of joy I find in getting a good deal?!? I've always been this way, not sure why? I think you are just born with it.. I have a really hard time paying full-price for anything!
I will start by saying couponing can be VERY overwhelming if you try to do everything at once.  I have learned over the last year how to organize my coupons and what works for me.. I also only really target coupon.. I do of course use coupons for grocery shopping, but after trying to dive into it all (CVS, etc), I found it very overwhelming! I will use a coupon to shop at Old Navy or almost anywhere, but I don't spend too much time looking!  There are plenty of sites and blogs devoted to saving and some of my favorites are Money Saving Mom , Deal Seeking Mom , Disboards (budget board) and Frugal Coupon Living  .  I have noticed that you can really follow one, as they are end up with the same deals!

Anyway, I would say the BEST way to start is to figure out what works for you!  I have two coupon "envelopes".  One is strictly target coupons and one has all the others (which is bigger and has slots for different categories) and this seemed to work for me. I also try to have a plan before I walk in a store.. I know what I am going for and TRY to stick to it (with my coupons already ready).  This does not always work, but I try :)

You don't have to be a crazy money saver like me to find a good deal!  Remember to keep your mind open and look around. I will try and keep posting great deals as I find them.. You can also leave a comment if you have questions or find your own deal.. Or email me .

SWAGBUCKS!

Swagbucks is a great online search engine that rewards you for searching online.  When I heard about it, I was a little skepitcal, but since I am ALWAYS online, I figured I'd look into it.  I read a lot of savings blogs and everything I read said great things about it.. People earn enough in Swagbucks to receive hundreds of dollars in gift cards.

After much investigation I decided to give it a shot.  Swagbucks is very simple to sign up for. In fact, it takes all of about one minute. There are no fees, no credit card required, and no phone number or address requested.

After that, you are credited points to your account and then download the toolbar and every day as you're searching online, you earn a few more points. I'm a big gift card person and after only 45 or so points, you can get a free Amazon gift card. Or at 50 points, you can get a Starbucks gift card. There are dozens of other prizes, too.

I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty sweet to me! So what are you waiting for? Go sign up here.

50 FREE Christmas Cards (or whatever else!)

I just ordered my Christmas Cards (50 5x7 cards)and didn't pay a cent!!  I usually get a good deal, but this is the best!
